Sailor Venus grinned as she heard Sailor Mar’s reaction to the attack. She stalked nearer to her fellow senshi and partner in crime. “We got her.” She winked, lifting her gloved hand up to give the other woman a high five.
“Hmmm.” Curiosity filled her tone. “Haven’t heard from Mercury in a while. We best keep an eye out for her.” She rose a brow, surveying their surroundings carefully.
“Best stick together, eh?” -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- In the meantime, Sailor Mercury had carefully brought her hand near her right ear, pressing into what seemed a plain, decorative blue earring. “I think evening out the odds seems only right.” She smiled lightly. The simple motion triggered a visor of sorts to manifest itself.
The pale gray screen covered her eyes, most appropriately filling her vision with beloved numbers and analytics. She began to take in the greater surroundings. Through her visor she was able to better track the movement patterns of both Jupiter and Venus.
“Both Jupiter and Venus are near the back wall of the training area. If we were to corner them in the right quadrant of the room, they’d have little place to run.” She determined. “Though, they are a powerful force together. If I were to distract Jupiter, while you focused on Venus, our probability of success would be much higher.” She added softly.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It was at that moment that Luna jumped back onto the ground floor of the training room, the crescent moon on her forehead glowed brightly. After a time, Mercury’s fog dissipated, leaving each senshi visible. “That’s enough for now.” Luna said calmly. “You both will need to learn how to work together, but also how to stand alone if necessary.” She commented. “Jupiter and Venus, I’m glad to see that you’re learning how you can combine your powers to enhance a single attack.” She nodded in respect.
“I know that Princess Serenity wanted to welcome each of you personally. You know that her schedules keep her rather busy.” She offered. “However, the princess has worked with each of your kingdom’s best interior designers to ensure that your bed chambers truly feel like home.” She padded near the center of the room to better address the young women.
“We are so blessed to have each of you here at the palace. And, we know that it’s not an easy transition. Please know that each of you only ask and we will do our best to accommodate your needs.”
“For now, let me escort you all to the East Wing of the palace where all your chambers reside.” She smiled. “Then, you’ll each have fitting sessions for your gowns. We’ll be throwing a ball to officially present you all to the Kingdom in a fortnight.”

Serenity's lips pursed slightly at her mother’s words. “I’m very happy for them. They are each intelligence and strong. I have no doubt that we will do wonderful things together for all our kingdoms.” She smiled lightly. “I wish that I could protect them equally.” She frowned. She was never truly free, but it was evident that Serenity would be under a great deal more scrutiny and supervision than she was used to.
As she floated down the corridors with her mother, taking careful steps to maintain the presence that would please and bring pride, she sighed. With every word that dripped from her mother’s lips, it felt like a weight was being placed upon Serenity’s shoulders—her kingdom, the other kingdoms, her guardians, the Ginzuishou. “I understand the powers of the Ginzuishou.” She said carefully.
“It is a stone that is feared and revered. The limits of its power are unknown, but extremely dangerous to those who use it, as our life force can be taken from us by our will to wield change through the Ginzuishou.” She countered. “How do you expect me to take ownership of such a thing when you won’t let me embrace what powers I have innately?” She questioned, tilting her head to the side.
As her mother took her hand, squeezing Serenity took in a sharp breath. “I so deeply want to make you proud.” She stressed, placing her other hand atop her mothers. “I do feel that we are so different in approaches, however.” She said cautiously. “For being allies with such wonderful kingdoms, like Earth for example, we are so distant with them.” She chided. “I was told by our courier that we were invited to attend an event. Did we even respond? How cold does that make us?” She frowned.
It was not until her mother brought up her classes again that Serenity’s gaze narrowed and she stepped away from the woman, creating more distance between them. “Are you even listening?” She hissed. “It’s not that I find these classes boring, it’s that I disagree with these lessons at a fundamental level. I do not want to be the type of ruler these lessons teach me to be, nor do I agree with some of your statements about transparency. I think we need to be more trusting, and maybe that’s dangerous to our kingdom, but I believe it’s worth it for the greater good!”
It was at that moment that she brought a hand to her head, shaking it slightly. “I…I’m not feeling well.” She looked to the ground. “I’m going to get rest in my chambers. We can discuss this more later.” She said coolly, dismissing herself. She turned sharply, picking up the edges of her gowns fabric as it moved with her.

With a sharp clap Sailor Jupiter returned the high five beaming, "She's a smart one. Probably waiting for us to lower our guard before striking a critical blow." Although it was definitely not her style, she greatly admired the Mercury Princess' ability to evaluate all angles and then decide how to react. She considered it a great exercise in patience; patience that Jupiter herself did not possess. She was already looking for a counterattack when the bright crescent beam signaled Luna's appearance on the scene.
She had to restrain a huff when Luna announced that the fun was over. She reminded herself that her role as protector sometimes meant not being in a rush to fight. She had to readily admit that it was her inclination and that in the eyes of the others, it may even come across as a weakness. She wanted to leave a good impression, and that meant leading a balanced life.
She may be able to excel here on the training ground, but the next challenge was already upon her, "A ball already, huh?" she remarked to no one in particular.
Formal scenarios often made her nervous. Being easily the tallest girl in most rooms, she was always the impression she looked universally terrible in dresses. She always felt too built, too boyish, and she was already dreading going the entire night without one invitation to dance. Then again, she mused with self-effacing humor, she might even dread more if someone did ask her to dance. Elegance throwing lightning did not translate to elegance on the ballroom floor.
She sighed heavily, and glanced at the others to evaluate if she was alone in these feelings.

Sailor Mars nodded at Sailor Mercury's assessment. She felt fortunate to have such a brilliant strategist on her side and felt confident that the plan she put forth would work. However, just as she opened her mouth to concur and offer her own suggestions to the strategy, Luna's glowing crescent signaled an abrupt end to their training. With her lips curved into a slight frown, Sailor Mars stood to her full height and waited for the fog to dissipate. At the mention of Princess Serenity the soldier of Mars felt a pang of sadness. She hadn't seen her dear friend since they arrived and wished she could have at least been able to see them practice.
Sailor Mars cast a sympathetic look at her fellow senshi when the Princess of Jupiter spoke. She understood why her friend was unhappy with the idea of a ball, but for the Princess of Mars she simply felt such pomp and circumstance was unnecessary. Still, she acknowledged its importance and therefore kept her displeasure to herself. At least she could look forward to a room decorated in the same style and color scheme as her room on her home planet.
"Lead the way, Luna," she said with a smile.

The fleeting moment of endearment warmed Queen Serenity’s heart as Serenity lay a gentle hand atop hers. The desperation that glimmered in the mirrored sapphire gaze was never quite taken seriously enough; further evidenced as that soft smile rose to her lips. “Your passion for the Moon Kingdom and your place in it will always make me proud, Serenity.”
It was true. Deep down there was a piece of her that knew Serenity would forever fight the binds of the crown she was born into. That the young dreamer would somehow carve her own incredible and beautiful path in life. Watching her daughter strive to create the best world possible for the entire universe would be a lovely thing to witness, and the courageous princess was strong enough to shoulder such a burden.
“As for the Kingdom of Earth, we are their distant protectors. Forever watching over them, ensuring that no great harm comes to them; as we do with all the planets. Yes, the Royal Family of Earth invites us to many charming events. Yet, they don’t expect our presence, it’s more of a respectful formality. Perhaps it is… ‘cold’ as you say. Nevertheless, it is merely the way we exist, my dear.”
Turning to face Serenity, her back now to the picturesque view of the kingdom, tilting her head to the side slightly, bright azure eyes widening at the outburst. Gingerly demure fingertips came together at her waist as she spoke, albeit a touch of sternness catching the edges of her words. “Serenity. I do hear your concerns and yet some of them simply aren’t valid. Now tell me, is there something so terrible about the reign of peace we live in? I understand that you’re so young and full of ideas, but someday… Someday perhaps you shall see matters of the Moon Kingdom and our role in the Universe as I do.”
A resigned, heavy sigh rose from the Queen’s chest, the slight shake of her head casting a gentle wave through the long silver locks of hair that trailed gracefully down her back. Gesturing down the grand hallway, “If you feel ill, do retire to your chambers so you may spend some time with your Senshi, later. Do not forget, there is also the ball in their honor very shortly. Do feel better, my dear.”
Queen Serenity gathered her skirt into her left hand and swiftly returned to the Training Room. Upon entering the space, she cast a sweeping gaze over the transformed senshi; elegant and beautiful warriors here to protect the Princess. A welcome sight which drew an earnest smile to her face once again. Folding her hands together as she spoke brightly, “Good Afternoon Princesses and welcome to the Moon Kingdom. You may de-transform and leave your Hension Rods here in the Training Room. We shall formally present them to you at the ball. At that point they will be yours forever.”
Indicating the doorway behind her, “I’m sure Luna already let you know that you’d be shown to your new chambers. Princess Serenity was feeling a touch ill and retired to her room for now. Perhaps she’ll be able dine with you tonight.”
The Queen looked to Luna, “Do answer any questions the Princesses may have. Thank you for your presence here. Good day, ladies.” With that, she turned gracefully and disappeared down one of the many hallways of the Moon Palace.

Princess Serenity gingerly paced away from her mother, muttering under her breath. “She always has an answer,” she groaned.
With every step she took an uncomfortable tingle grew. It pinged the pit of her stomach and then quaked as her chest tightened. But the feeling wasn’t sickness, it was restlessness and frustration. As she rounded the corner of the long corridor, she tore into her bedchambers, shoulders slumped as she leaned against one of the cool walls of her bedroom. Her head hung low, a shallow breath spilled from her pale lips in frustration.
As her gaze lifted, she was met with the reflection of herself, frustrated eyes that bore into her soul from the floor-length mirror in front of her. ‘What a pathetic creature’ she thought. Those were not the eyes, nor the stature of a strong royal like her mother.
She took in a deep breath, her chest filled with air, and then, a spark of inspiration filled her. She plucked away the many layers of her gown, wiggling her way out of the obnoxious and ornate garment. She flung it to the side of the room. “How can I speak to anything if all I see and know is what other people tell me?” She questioned aloud, trying to reason with herself.
She moved quickly, searching for a particular outfit. “It has to be plain. I can’t draw attention.” She countered, tapping her index finger to her chin as plucked a slate gown.
And in no time, she stood back at the mirror to drink in the view of a new Serenity—one who was about to go on a grand adventure. The floor length slate gown complimented her lithe figure, a pale pink sash brought some life and its bow brought movement to the relatively drab outfit that rested just off the tips of her shoulders, with a wide scooped neckline.
She plopped to the ground, beginning to lace a pair of knee-high navy boots. Her long golden locks were loosely woven together in a braid that rested along her right shoulder, held together with pale pink ribbon. One hand continued to lace as another began to rummage cautiously in her large jewelry box that she brought to the floor. “I guess it’s finally time that I used it.” She murmured. Eyes twinkled as she found the object she had so carefully guarded for so long.
She didn’t think her mother knew about it. But, a very old advisor who passed away nearly a decade ago had given Serenity two pocket watches. Someone who had lived a full life, especially the life of a moon citizen had seen and felt many things. In his last moments, he regretted not seeing more of the universe at large.
He regretted some of his lessons to the young princess, and most importantly, he voiced an exhaustion toward the separation that existed between the kingdoms—masked with political formalities. He gave Serenity the opportunity to flee her cage, but he told her to use the opportunity wisely. Was she being brash? She wondered as she cupped the timepiece in her palms carefully, admiring the craftsmanship.
She wasn’t sure if the time was right or wrong. But she knew she didn’t find some freedom and space, she’d likely be swallowed in her restlessness.
Her eyes closed as a tender smile fell over her expression and the crescent moon symbol on her forehead slowly faded. With it, the weight of her crown seemed non-existent. It was freeing, but she knew it wasn’t permanent. In fact, her abilities were quite unstable. So, just in case, she grabbed a large pale pink hat with long edges that curved and flopped at the will of her every movement.
She placed it on her head strategically as the ruffled edges of the hat were spotted poking along one of palaces less travelled corridors. She tip toed, stopping and starting, as she did her best to navigate the internal guard fleets. And as she stood near the edge of the palace that led into the gardens, she figured she was in as good a place as she could be.
She grasped the time piece tightly, tapping the back of the seemingly trivial trinket. Her mind focused on her destination and her ocean blue orbs closed, hoping desperately that her will would bring her there. Today, she was going to Earth.
A moment passed and when she opened her eyes to the sun’s bright kiss. Her eyes squinted, head lifted to admire the view of the golden globe with a perfect seat in a bright blue sky. She could hear endless noise—rushing water from a nearby fountain, the movement of merchants and vendors, and the endless chatter of the many Earth citizens…
“Oh!” Her admiration of her surroundings and twinkling eyes bulged as she nearly fell over. Her hands quickly jumped to the sides of her had, tugging it conservatively tighter on her head. A group of men moved passed her gingerly, apologizing as they continued. “You best hurry, or you’ll miss the beginning of the spar tournament!” They called.
“Spar tournament?” She said softly through parted lips, taking in a sharp breath. ‘That must be the event we were invited to.’ She thought, and luckily for her, a flood of people all headed in the same direction. All she had to do was follow to make her way to the large, circular arena in the heart of town.
(00C: From this point, I'll be moving Serenity's posting into the Earth folder now that she's transitioned over for the time being. FYI.)

Sailor Venus bent her knees in a defensive position instantaneously as the light plunged into the training room. But at Luna’s voice, the young woman the rest of her posture. Her expression continued to soften as she was now able to see the rest of her warrior companions.
She was about to add her own attempt at comfort for her friend, Princess Jupiter. But her eyes swept away from her fellow Princess at the Queen’s arrival. “Your highness.” She said politely, bowing her head out of respect.
She did not have much of a chance to get another word in, as the woman exited as quickly as she had entered. For as many times as Minako had been to the Moon Palace, there remained something extremely mysterious about Queen Serenity. She hoped she would get to spend more time with the woman and learn how she became such a noble ruler.
She closed her eyes, letting her transformation slip away. A warmth inside her returned at the comfort of her regular attire. She moved toward the table, letting the henshin stick rest where she first found it. Her eyes glued to the shining object, thinking momentarily about all it represented.
“Hopefully we’ll see the Princess tonight. It’s too bad she’s not feeling well.” She said, looking back at the other girls. “At least we can take the time to settle in then. I’m excited to hear how life has been for each of you.” She smiled. Although all were Princesses, each had a very different upbringing and each’s Kingdom was quite unique.
The Moon Kingdom alone was its own realm. The people, Queen Serenity aside, were quite open and liberal in their displays of emotion. Community bathing and relaxation pools were quite common. Very few lived lives as individuals. There was a great sense and pride of community.
Secretly, she was excited about the ball. It was always an opportunity to meet new people. New and handsome young men in particular. A flustered look fell upon her face as she realized her mind was distracting her.
“So, you’ll show us the way to our chambers then, Luna?” She questioned.
The black feline gave a gentle nod. “Of course. As I was saying, we have an entire wing prepared for all of you. With a common area so you may continue to bond and grow as a team.” She stated, giving the rest of the girls a moment before beginning the tour of their rooms.

Sailor Jupiter stiffened as the Moon Queen Serenity entered the room. She bowed instinctively in Jovian fashion - bowing from the shoulders with a balled hand over her chest - and listened to what the Queen had to say. She followed suit with the other princesses, resuming her former appearance in a green Chinese-style dress. She was reluctant to leave the henshin rod there even temporarily, though the sensation reminded her just how much she had to work on trust. Jovian culture, she felt, was very different from that enjoyed by her fellow Princesses. Even though part of the Solar Kingdom of which the Moon was the central hub, the planet itself still referred to itself as "The Empire of Jupiter." Her King and Queen were Emperor and Empress. The rationale, as it was taught to her, was that the planet was big enough to be empire even in its own right with almost 70 moons to call its territory. It valued "protective independence," a sense that one should be strong in one's own right so that one could come to another's aid. Yet, it was an unspoken truth that you never wanted to be recipient of help. "Please" and "thank you" felt different on Jupiter, and were reserved for favors, not needed help. Rather, it was polite to help someone when they needed it, but never point it out. The recipient, on the other hand, never acknowledged it with thanks, but instead took it as a lesson where to grow, and looked for the opportunity to return the help, equally unspoken. Thus, Makoto worked very hard at being the equal of her fellow Princesses, even as she herself felt outclasses by them in social etiquette. The Moon's culture of emotional vulnerability and expressiveness was strange to get used it, but she longed for the openness it represented. The few visits she had to the Moon had made her emotionally compressed at home, and was one of the reasons she was happy to be here on a more permanent basis. So much represented a challenge to what she was used to, but she was so thankful for the opportunity of it all. Pulling her eyes away from the henshin rod, she joined her fellow Princesses and smiled, "This should be interesting. I hope the common room has a kitchenette!" Tag: Luna((OOC: Sorry I keep changing my adjectives! I keep finding new words that represent "Jupiterine" talk. Jovian is nice and short, so I'll be adapting it from now on ))

At Queen Serenity's request Sailor Mars gave a curt nod and allowed herself to de-transform and gingerly laid her henshin on the table next to the others. When the Princess of Jupiter mentioned the common room having a kitchenette, Princess Rei's mind instantly drifted to the one addition she hoped to see: a private room where she could light a sacred flame and meditate. Long before she was born it had been prophesized that the Princess of Mars would be a gifted psychic. From an early age the young Princess began having visions and soon started receiving training to hone her gifts by the High Priestess herself. The downside to this was that Rei had been kept in virtual isolation for most of her life. She saw very little of her parents and the closest thing she had to friends were her ever formal guardians Phobos and Deimos. Then one day Queen Serenity visited the Kingdom of Mars with her daughter who would become the first real friend Princess Rei would make. Through Princess Serenity she would meet the other Princesses of the inner system and form deep and lasting friendships with them. And now, here they were training to become guardians and protectors of the Moon Kingdom. The Kingdom of Mars was famous for its warriors and mystics, so it seems only fitting that it's Princess and representative be both.
Princess Rei smiled at her friends, then nodded towards Luna.
"Looks like we're ready now."

The corners of Luna’s lips curved into a light smile as she addressed the girls. “Well then, follow me.” She turned, her hips and tail swayed gently from side to side as she began to pad down the main corridor of the palace at a calm pace.
“So, this wing of the palace is connected to the gardens, which lead to the private relaxation springs. Do you all remember them?” She questioned.
“I know Princess Serenity will want to take you all there. Perhaps after you go over your duties for tomorrow evening’s coronation with her, you’ll get the chance.” She paused momentarily, letting out a light sigh. “If she’s up to it.” She added, realizing what the Queen said about Serenity’s sudden illness.
It wasn’t unknown that their Princess was growing frustrated and restless as her curiosity for the world around her and defining her own identity had really flourished over the last year.
As the group neared the main wing, Luna sat on her hind legs, the moon symbol on her forehead glowed as two large white doors swung toward them.
Beyond them existed a large common room. The walls were a pale gray that popped to life with extensive furnishings in deep navy, gold and silver. Along the perimeter of the shared space were four large entry ways to each of the princesses room, signified by the archway being lined in the color of each girl’s home planet. “I’m certain that you’ll find everything you could ever need or desire within this wing — personal pantries and cooking space for Princess Jupiter; a shrine and fire reading room to continue your training Princess Mars; An auxiliary library packed with texts from various kingdoms within the realm Princess Mercury; and a studio Princess Venus, where you can continue to learn dances and absorb music of other cultures—Serenity has made sure of it.” She smiled, nodding for them to enter.
“But, if not, you need only ask and we’ll make arrangements. We want this to truly feel like home.”

Makoto grinned happily with the mention of a kitchenette. She might not be the best with social skills, but by Jove she could cook! If she couldn't express herself with tender words then she would with delicious food; and this she fully intended to do. She was happy too that each Princess had been especially thought of with all the extra stuff they had crammed into their living quarters. It made her feel like they were truly welcomed. Not tolerated, nor just hosted for stiff political reasons, but...well, like they were being adopted into a new family.
"We have a couple hours, right?" she said offhandedly and she nearly danced through the big doors, looking back at Luna for confirmation and just about forgetting about the upcoming ball in her glee, "I'll get something going for us to enjoy when we get to see Serenity tonight. If she's not feeling well, some homemade cookies will cheer her right up! It'll only take a moment!"
She ran to her hall with the excitement of a schoolgirl, and when she opened the door to her room she gasped in astonishment. Truly, they had brought in some help from Jupiter to recreate the style of her homeworld so well, as well as tailor to her particular tastes. The green motif throughout was accented with pinks and reds in the form of flowers. The floor was marble colored as the clouds of Jupiter with light orange and grey swirls and a smattering of red splotches, with several appropriately placed throw rugs to avoid cold feet. And with Jupiter being such a huge planet, its culture had adjusted by making things big. Her massive bed, done what would've been considered a Greek style, had a pink canopy and drapes which Makoto felt [unintentionally] captured her own strange admixture of masculine strength with desperate feminine accents. There few a couple large potted flower bushes scattered in key locations, which for Makoto added a necessary breath of life to any place she could call home. For the first time since arriving on the Moon, a pang of homesickness hit her. She brushed it away with a shake of the head and changed into looser clothes more appropriate for kitchen work.
Makoto was always one who thought better while she was in action. Whether throwing a punch, tending a flower, or stirring a pot, she used the external activity to help process the way she was feeling. She needed it now, she felt, as she struggled to adapt her needs and wants to a new life of responsibility and freedom. In in a flash, Makoto was back in the common room, apron tied and mixing bowls clinking before anyone could remind her she would soon be fitted for an evening gown.

Princess Rei's ruby lips curled into a smile when Luna mentioned the fire reading room for her, as well as the other special amenities for her fellow Princess'. It seemed as though Princess Serenity had gone to great lengths to assure that her friends would have everything they would need in their new home. When the doors to their private wing swung open, the Princess of Mars was greeted with a warm and inviting common room, decorated to suit the tastes of each of them. Princess Makoto rushed passed, mentioning making cookies and stirring a ruble of anticipation from Rei's stomach. She hadn't realized that she was hungry and the idea of enjoying one of the Princess of Jupiter's confectionary delights had her mouth watering.
As the others branched off to see their rooms, Princess Rei made her way to the door with the archway lined in red. She stepped inside and her jaw dropped at the sight of her bedroom. Decorated in deep reds with accents of dark purple and black, her room had the exact gothic look and feel of her bedroom back on her home planet. Her queen size canopy bed was solid wood painted black and matched perfectly with her vanity and her wardrobe. Red sheer red curtains hung from the canopy and wound down around the four posts, setting a welcoming appearance for her soft, satiny bed. The same sheer red curtains hung over the doorway to her balcony causing the light that shone through them to cast a soft red glow throughout the room. Serenity had definitely outdone herself. Princess Rei stepped out onto the balcony and was thrilled to see that it had been decorated to match the design of her room and offered a beautiful view of the garden. Back inside, a set of double doors caught the Princess of Mars' attention and she made her way over to them. Sliding them open, she was delighted to find the fire room that Luna had promised. It was a perfect match for the one in the sacred temple on her home planet. All she needed to do was light the fire. There were tools for lighting the fire set atop a small table in the corner, but Princess Rei had no need of such things. The sacred fire of Mars was a part of her. She needed only to call it forth. Gently gathering the edges of her gown, she knelt before the kindling and held her hand over it. A quick burst of flame erupted from her outstretched hand and bit into the kindling. The fire instantly doubled in size, filling the room with warmth and soft light. Pleased with herself, the Princess of Mars bowed her head and clasped her hands in front of her chest and offered prayers for her people, her guardians, and her fellow Princesses. When she was finished she made her way back into the common room, which was slowly filling with the scent of fresh backed cookies.
"My room is amazing," she said selecting a seat near the kitchenette so she could speak with Princess Makoto. "Serenity has certainly outdone herself! I hope she will be well enough to join us for our dress fitting."

Minako walked silently with the others, listening intently to all the information and details Luna had to offer. Though, as she entered the space, she felt lost in her own thoughts again.
Pangs of home sickness pricked at her senses, shoulders slumped slightly. She spilt away from the others, surveying her new home. Her fingertips slid along the fine yellow and orange silk that hung about her bed. The room was alive with careful pops of color, but most importantly was the studio room.
She placed her hand gingerly along the wooden warm up bar, squeezing as she craned her head toward it, stretching her back with a content sigh. She loved expression in all forms—dance and music were ways of feeling and distressing. A song could uncover memories and feelings. Minako was on a constant journey of self-discovery – and this particular vice was quite fun.
The smell of fresh baked cookies drew her out of hiding and back into the common area. “You are already outdoing yourself.” She mused to the Jovian Princess. “But, I’d never turn down such hard work, delicious as it is.” She grinned. She slinked into a chair beside the Princess of Mars.
“Do you think you’ll be doing a fire reading soon? We had always talked about the process and focus, I’d love to see how you’ve progressed.” She smiled. She tapped a finger to her chin as she looked around, feeling a very essential piece of their party was missing.
“Perhaps we should go see Serenity?” She offered. “If she’s not feeling well, we could cheer her up.” She added. “The smell of these cookies alone might bring her to us.”
Unlike some of the others, she was nothing but excited for the upcoming ball. The music, the dresses, and maybe a special someone waiting to be met; a stranger who becomes so much more over time. Anything could happen at a ball. She sucked in a sharp breath as she tried to focus more on the moment at hand.

“Princess Mercury, if I could ask a favor before you take a look at your bed chambers.” Luna commented politely.
Ami bent down, near the cat shaking her head. “Luna, we’ve known each other too long for formality. You can always call me Ami.” She smiled. “There are a lot of special amenities in this Wing. It must have taken quite some time to construct.” She deduced. “But, what did you need to talk with me about?”
“Well, Queen Serenity wanted me to ask you if you’d be willing to tutor Serenity?” She questioned. “I don’t think that the Princess is blowing off her studies per say, but she’s grown restless with some of her teachings. We believe if you were there to act as a personal advisor and continue the lessons with informal discussions, we may find some compromise.” Luna explained.
“You should view your room and take some time to relax with the other girls. I just wanted to put that in front of you. I don’t need an answer right away, just consider it.” Luna added.
Ami bypassed her main chambers to head straight for the auxiliary library. As she perused the collection she was impressed by the diversity of texts that had been gathered. She took some time to decide which text would be her first victim for reading. “Ah, perfect.” She mused. Walking gingerly to her chambers, she set the book on her bedside table, knowing she wouldn’t have much time with it until later.
She might have been the most quiet and reserved of the bunch, but she always took great pleasure in the side of herself that the girls could bring out. She did feel like part of a family with them and genuinely trusted those around her.
“I agree. A fire reading would be a very special event to attend.” She addressed the group from afar. “Of course, only if we wouldn’t be a distraction to your focus and concentration, Rei.” Part of her wanted to get out into the open area of the gardens or the greater palace to explore. She wanted to see all that had changed and all that hadn’t.

Leaning over her second tray of cookies ready for the Moon-tech oven (TM), Makoto chatted happily with Rei, Minako, and Ami as they all gathered around in the common room. The power of delicious food always brought people together!
"That's always been Serenity for you," she replied to Rei's comments on their rooms, "I swear, the Princess will go though any lengths to make people happy.." then she stammered, thinking that comment made it sound like Serenity was disingenuous, "What I mean is, she really doesn't care how much trouble she goes through as long as she can put people at ease." she laughed at a sudden memory, "The first time I met her, in fact, she stopped me from getting into a fight with some brat..."
Makoto recalled the memory with a wane smile. She had come to the moon with her father, the Emperor, all dolled up to look impressive. She had felt so insecure and powerless with her father's stern warnings to give a good impression. However, in her insecurity she was quick to take things personally. When another kid of the royal household made a comment about how big girls were from the 'Big Planet', Makoto was ready to make him eat his words...with her fists. Serenity must have either heard the raised voices or sensed a disturbance in the force as she had a knack for doing and intervened. Makoto still recalled the fervor of her voice when she was pleading for peace, "If you really need to hit somebody, then hit me!" Of course, even Makoto had the sense to realize beating up on the Princess of the Moon Kingdom would be bad for everyone, and Serenity's wholesome intensity for peace stole away Makoto's wrath and she dropped the matter. She even apologized to the other boy. Makoto had determined then that she liked this strange Princess, and maybe coming to the Moon wouldn't be so bad after all.
Makoto's reverie turned to self-conscious embarrassment with Minako's praise, "Well, you know, gotta play to your strengths." she deflected as she drew the first batch of cookies out of the oven and placed them on the counter, their enticing aroma drifting tempting in the air.
Makoto worked quietly with her art as they talked fire readings, "I've always been fascinated by it, Rei, not the least of all that you can stay so still while doing it. I'm just too fidgety, you know?" She wiped the back of her forehead with a hand.
"...I hope she's alright," the memories of Serenity kindling her fondness for their leader, "We should definitely go see her!" she agreed earnestly with Minako, "I mean, after all, cookies are best freshly baked too! I don't want to give them to her cold."
